3D precision in a small enclosure

The Ensenso B is the most recent development in the Ensenso camera series. Specially developed to meet the requirements of our customers, the 3D camera impresses with outstanding performance at short object distances. It combines the advantages of all previous Ensenso series in an extremely compact and robust housing. These features make the Ensenso B the ideal choice for applications in the robotics sector where precision and reliability are required in a small space.

At short distances

The fully integrated optics with a short focal length allow use of the two 5 megapixel stereo cameras from an object distance starting at 21 cm. Even at this short distance, the Ensenso B covers a large field of view of 30 x 26 cm and produces depth values with an accuracy of approx. 0.1 millimetres. The lenses in the B series allow working distances of up to around 2 metres.

Sharp images in all regions

The Ensenso B also impresses with its high depth of field, which ensures that objects in the working area always remain in focus and in perfect clarity, even at varying distances. This feature supports the high 5 MP resolution of the stereo sensors and enables outstanding image quality, which is essential for demanding applications.

Compact and Robust

The sophisticated design of the Ensenso B combines compact dimensions of just 120 x 56 x 104 millimetres in a housing protected by IP65/67, making the camera particularly space-saving and robust. The integrated electronics and the closed design simplify cabling considerably, which means that the Ensenso B works reliably even in challenging environments, for instance when used on a robot arm.

True colour 3D

The Ensenso B obtains colour information of the object scene directly from the stereo sensors. This saves additional sensors and reduces installation space and hardware costs. At the same time, it simplifies the calibration between 3D and colour data in one coordinate system.

Flex View 3

The 3D data quality of the Ensenso B also benefits from the latest 3rd generation projector pattern, both for single image captures in moving scenes and for multi-image acquisitions using FlexView technology.

High resolution

The two 5 MP Sony image sensors generate stereo images with a particularly high pixel resolution at close range and thus provide raw data for point clouds with a high level of detail and completeness.

Ensenso SDK

Cameras of the Ensenso B camera family are easy to set up and operate via the Ensenso SDK. In addition to wizards for easy setup and camera calibration support for the 3D cameras, it also includes GPU-based image processing for even faster 3D data processing.

  • One software package (Ensenso SDK for Windows and Linux) for all Ensenso models
  • MVTec HALCON, C, C++ and C# sample programs with source code
  • Output of a single 3D point cloud with data from all cameras used in multi-camera mode
  • Live composition of the 3D point clouds from multiple viewing directions
  • Robot hand-eye calibration
  • Integration of uEye industrial cameras, for example, to capture additional colour information or barcodes
